Budgeting for multi-currency lives
BudgetByChat is a zero-based budgeting app for people whose money moves between countries: expats, freelancers paid in dollars, families sending money home.
Why we built it
Most budgeting apps assume one country, one bank and one currency. Real lives don't look like that. Rent is paid in dirhams, salary arrives in dollars, school fees go out in rupees, and the savings goal is somewhere in between. Spreadsheets break, and apps either ignore the other currencies or bury them.
BudgetByChat gives every rupee, dirham or dollar a job before the month starts (zero-based budgeting), then keeps the plan honest as you spend. Every amount keeps its original currency, and totals are shown in the currency you think in, with a second currency alongside if you want it.
What's next
Free iPhone and Android apps, on the same account and with push alerts for budgets, bills and goals, are coming soon. So is the WhatsApp add-on: log an expense by sending a message and get back what's left. Join the WhatsApp waitlist or get an email when the apps launch.
What we believe
The core stays free
Budgets, expenses, goals, net worth, debts, accounts and reports are free on the web. Only the WhatsApp add-on will be paid.
Every currency, honestly
Log in the currency you paid in. We convert with the latest rate and keep the original amount, so nothing is rounded away.
Private by design
No bank connections, no ads, no selling data. You can export everything or delete your account from Settings at any time.
Built for quick entries
Budgeting only works if logging is effortless. That is why the next step is logging an expense with one WhatsApp message.
