Money sent home
AED to PKR: budget the money you send home
For Pakistanis in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, the monthly transfer home is often the biggest line in the budget. Plan it like rent: decide the amount, see what it becomes in rupees today, and make sure what is left still covers your own month.

- Budget the transfer in dirhams, the currency you are paid in, and record what your family received in rupees.
- Pay your own fixed costs first: rent cheques, transport and phone. Then send.
- Keep an emergency fund in the UAE; an unexpected bill should not mean asking for money back.
- If you send on a fixed day each month, your family can plan around it.
Why this matters
